Thanks to Moppedwolf and Jörg... :cool)
Paul,
Great. I'll soon be speaking like on of the locals. Maybe I am not a simbel after all!
At last - a language I can learn that will be really useful. Sadly there is no word for a sheep.

Hi John,
In Hessisch it'll be something like: Bèèèèèèh , I suppose....
See you!
Hi John,
I wouldn´t advise learning "hessisch"...it´s not really a language...not even a dialekt...it´s more like an "aberration" ...it´s only spoken in a small part of Germany - and not the prettiest at that  - but worst of all...: nobody understands hessisch...not even the Hessians...
Next time you´re over here we´ll teach you something useful...
greets
Axman
Axman,
Too late - I've now purchased the 24 CD Rom 'Learn Hessisch at Home in 3 Days' course (only 250 euros) and arranged an exchange visit with a Hessian family (8 of them) who are going to live in my home for 6 weeks next year. I have to sleep in the garage for the six weeks but it's OK. When I visit them they have kindly agreed to let me sleep in their utility room with their 3 dogs, 4 cats and washing machine. It should be an interesting stay as I am alergic to cats and dogs always seem to enjoy biting me!
Still I suppose it is worth it as at least someone in Germany will understand me!
Sometimes I think that no-one here really understands me! :rockout2:    :p
Cheers,
