Bulldog-BT1100

Hi,

Mick P and I will be riding from Antwerp to the IBT on Thursday 23th June if anyone would like to meet.
We don't have any route planned as all roads lead to the Panoramic Hotel and we usually get lost anyway!!!

This year, instead of Sat-Nav (which never works) I am trying a new navigation system which is made from string, magnets and a small stick. I am hopeful of reaching the Harz area ~ sometime...?

I would like to attend.

Hi John,

I've figured out two points in Duisburg were we could met:

This one is quite close to the motorway in case we want to head out quickly and leave the motorway later:
Lindenwirtin Duisburg
Google Maps point

This one is a not that close to the motorway, but a known meeting point for bikers:
Grafenmuehle

Just let me know how you'd like to continue from there (exclude motorway, mainly motorway or similar)
and I'll try to prepare a route where also Axman can join easily.

Or perhaps one of the locals there want to attend and now about a much better place to meet (including
suggestions about the route

Hi Volker,

It would be good to get off the motorway and use other roads. We will have travelled enough motorway by the time we get to you!

The Grafenmuehle is a good suggestion. We will meet you there 12.00 - 12.30.

Mick and I are happy to take any route you wish. It may take a little longer on other roads but we are not in a hurry! As well as meeting Axman, Vrensche has also said she will join us later in the day near the Harz area.

Whatever route we take, I am sure it will be a great ride.

By the way, what make of sat-nav do you have? In case it is
TomTom or Garmin, I can create special files which you can upload to
it. Makes it a bit easier.

Hi every one i have managed to get back on here at last. looking forward to meeting you all again , if we get lost with John W sat nav i have a plan .... i have trained a sheep and she will find mopedwolf anywhere so we will follow her.

sorry for the delayed answer. Wasn't able to pinpoint the route so far cause my computer crashed (the mainboard died).

But will upload the route within the next few days and keep you all posted.

Afternoon Gents,

After a long week without a proper computer, I am now back.

John, Mick: This is the first proposal. Around 400 km with a bit of motorway at the start and the end
of the tour. We are stopping within Menden somewhere at the westtangente to pick up Axman.

As google maps says something about 6 hours, I've tried to keep the route as close to the motorway
as possible to ensure that we can easily shorten the ride in case of... rain... or stuff like that.

1st draft

@ Axman: if you have something to amend, feel free to change the route and post it here.

If you all agree, I'll create the garmin files for you and load them up here.

Thanks for planning the route. It looks good to me.

It's a good idea to be near the motorway in case of bad weather, but hopefully it will be fine. I keep checking the weather forecast looking for the symbols on the map!

Hello Johan,It was good to see you again this year and hope you had a safe journey home,we did although it was a wet one.Hope you get a bulldog again and get rid of that thing you came on....only joking!We will not bring the english weather next year but we may be bring some new bulldog riders that are interested in the meeting.Thank you for the sweatshirt it was a very nice gesture.Hope to see you before the next meeting in the spring maybe,we will have a ride over.Bye for now, Jake.
